Fort Lauderdale – The City of Fort Lauderdale will temporarily close asection of S.W. 9th Avenue between S.W. 15 and S.W. 16th Streets for five days beginning Monday, January 14, 2013 at 9 a.m. The temporary road closure is necessary to allow a City contractor to perform an emergency repair on a sewer line. The City expects to reopen S.W. 9th Avenue on Friday, January 18th by 5 p.m.

Message boards and detour signs will be posted in the area to alert motorists of the road closure.

Motorists should expect traffic delays in and around the restricted area. They are encouraged to follow posted detour signs and travel slowly to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, and other motorists.
