In March, longtime Beach High School girls’ basketball coach Ronald Booker retired after nearly 800 wins.  It wasn’t very long the Dean of coaches in our area was back on the court… now at Savannah State University. Booker says he’s having a “great time” as Special Assistant to head coach Cedric Baker.  The two have been good friends for the past 10 years… and now co-workers.

Coach Booker won nearly 800 games in his 35 years as head coach at Beach High School, 21 Region titles and a State Championship in 2000. Now he’s helping his Lady Tigers try to win their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Title. SSU is currently 5-2 in the MEAC.
