MIAMI, FL – Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.), will salute South Florida Veterans on Friday, November 9, 2012, in observance of Veterans Day. The tribute to our Veterans will be held at 11:00am, at the American Legion Post 29, 6445 NE 7th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33138. More than two hundred Veterans will be presented Congressional Records, in honor of their accomplishments. The Congressional Record will be read from the floor in the House of Representatives and will stand in the archives of the Library of Congress, marking these Veterans’ place in American History.

The Congresswoman Frederica Wilson District 24 Federal Veterans Advisory Council comprised of veterans from Florida’s 24thCongressional District will also be unveiled. This Council will work closely with the Congresswoman’s local Congressional office and advise the Congresswoman as to the needs of her veteran constituents. The Council will meet regularly, make sure veterans are able to connect with Veteran services and suggest legislation to improve the overall quality of life for our Veterans.
