     USA

    33 million cases, 600,000 deaths

    Florida*

    2.3 million cases, 36,985 deaths

*The Florida Department of Health will no longer update its Covid-19 dashboard and will suspend daily case and vaccine reports. The department will instead post weekly updates. The numbers reported here reflect the number of new cases and deaths for the previous week, May 28 – June 3.

    Update

New coronavirus infections continue to drop across the US.

There is an average of 15,000 new infections daily, down from 23,000 in the previous week.

Daily COVID-19 deaths continue to decline. The average number of daily deaths is 430, down from 450 last week.

41 % of the US population is fully vaccinated, 51% have received at least one shot.

Vaccinations are available at most pharmacies, federal vaccination sites, and participating supermarkets, without an appointment.

Vaccinations are free. If you would like more information regarding vaccine efficacy or safety, please contact a healthcare provider.

     Advisory

The risk of infection with coronavirus and the possibility of developing COVID-19 disease remain extremely high for people who are unvaccinated. Remaining vigilant against disease transmission is critical. Practice good COVID-19 control strategies:

*Observe social distancing guidelines (6 feet or more of separation from others).

*Practice good hand hygiene (wash hands frequently with soap and warm water or use hand sanitizers).

*Wear a mask when out in public if you are unvaccinated.
