Update

New coronavirus infections have risen 140% across the US over the last 14 days. The average number of daily new cases is 32,000.

Florida is experiencing a full-fledged outbreak of the Delta variant of coronavirus. Florida alone represents 20% of all new coronavirus cases across the US.

New cases are up 190% in Florida; hospitalizations are up 73%.

The Delta variant is circulating widely in South Florida and surrounding areas.

Vaccinations remain a key weapon in the fight against coronavirus. Vaccinations are free and are available at most pharmacies, health clinics and participating locations, without an appointment.

If you would like more information regarding vaccine efficacy or safety, please contact a healthcare provider.

Advisory

The Delta and Delta-plus variants present serious risks and heightened probability for infection. The possibility of developing COVID-19 disease remains extremely high for unvaccinated persons. Remaining vigilant against disease transmission is critical. Practice good COVID-19 control strategies:

Observe social distancing guidelines (6 feet or more of separation from others).

Practice good hand hygiene (wash hands frequently with soap and warm water or use hand sanitizers).

Wear a mask when out in public if you are unvaccinated.
