    Update

Coronavirus cases are doubling in most states across the US.

The average number of new cases is 70,000 per day, a 50% increase over the last two weeks.

The average number of COVID-19 deaths is once again increasing, albeit slowly.

There is an average of 365 deaths per day, a 1% increase over the previous two weeks.

New coronavirus cases in Florida have risen 62% in the last two weeks.

Florida reports an average of 4,800 new cases daily.

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 are once again rising in South Florida.

Broward County has seen the highest jump in cases across South Florida.

    Announcement

Two new Omicron variants (B4 and B5) have been detected in the US. These variants emerged in South Africa and are thought to be more transmissible than other Omicron variants.

Scientists believe that B4 and B5 may be able to evade the vaccines, however there is no definitive information regarding ā€œimmunological escapeā€ at this point.

The Biden administration has issued new warning that the US could see 100 million COVID-19 cases in the Fall and Winter of this year.
