    Coronavirus Report: September 14, 2020

    USA

    6.5 million cases, 194,069 deaths

    Florida

    663,994 cases, 41,297 total hospitalizations, 12,608 deaths

    Broward

    73,810 cases, 5,592 total hospitalizations, 1,280 deaths

    There were 17,563 new coronavirus cases in Florida last week.

    There was an average of 2,509 daily new cases over the last week.

    Current Trends

    Florida COVID-19 cases have stabilized.

    More than 4.9 million people have been tested.

    Overall positivity rate is 13.5%

    In South Florida, overall positivity rate is 19%

    375,145 children under 18 have been tested for COVID-19.

    53,717 children (14%) have tested positive.

    672 children have been hospitalized; 8 have died.

     

    Continue to practice disease control:

    Avoid closed spaces with poor ventilation

    Avoid crowded places with many people nearby

    Avoid close-contact settings – such as close-range conversations

    Wear a mask when out in public.
