  • More than 5.2 million people have been tested.

  • The rate of new COVID-19 infection is soaring among college students and young adults 15-24. Colleges and universities in South Florida are particularly affected by spikes in new cases.

Broward County is moving into Phase 3 of its reopening plan. Bars and restaurants will be opened for full capacity dining and entertainment. With fully reopened restaurants and bars, it is especially important to maintain strict disease control measures. Crowding in bars and restaurants is a risk factor of coronavirus transmission. Take the following precaution:

  • Avoid closed spaces with poor ventilation
  • Avoid crowded places with many people nearby
  • Avoid close-contact settings – such as close-range conversations
  • Wear a mask when out in public.
