Daisy Lea Alexander Kennedy, the fifth of five children, was born in Evergreen, Alabama on October 3, 1932 to the late Delilah and Richard Alexander. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Alexander and her sister Mary Chaplin.

At an early age the family moved to Pensacola, Florida where she was educated in the Escambia County Public School System. Upon graduation from Booker T. Washington High School, she attended Florida A & M University where Daisy received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Daisy Kennedy had a passion for teaching children and mentoring many. She worked tirelessly for 37 years in the Broward County Public School System. Ms. Daisy also had a solid hand in teaching her grandchildren the basics from handwriting and reading to math.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Piney Grove since 1956 until her health began to decline. Mrs. Daisy was a songbird from heaven in the choir singing sprano. Daisy Kennedy was the first chairperson of the church directory, a past president of the Pastor’s Aide, a former Sunday School Superintendent, a member of the Hospitality Committee, and an active member of the Missionary Circle of Mary of Bethany. She also started the noonday bible study.
