The Gantt Report

By Lucius Gantt

The Gantt Report has said most of the issues that plague our homelands, our nations, our communities, and our extended families have something to do with money.

When people talk about “the haves” and “the have-nots”, the description ultimately refers to bankrolls, cash flow, access to capital, land, and so forth.

Once upon a time, there was peace in the human barnyard. People usually got along. Hate was not monetized.

Back then, Africa was the center of the world. Everything that was worth something was in Africa.

Today, rich people refer to Africa as “The Third World”, but Africa has never been third; it has always been first, first in civilization, first in culture, first in architecture, first in infrastructure, and first in natural resources.

Once European colonizers saw all the valuable resources in Africa, they immediately conjured up wicked plans to confiscate African resources that could generate wealth.

The Motherland already had religion, but many African leaders fell for the Preacher or Imam okey doke.

According to Kenyan Jomo Kenyatta, “When the Missionaries arrived, the Africans had the land, and the missionaries had the Bible. They taught us how to pray with our eyes closed. When we opened them, they had the land, and we had the Bible.”

Today, everybody wants land. Modern-day land grabs remind me of how land has been taken from African Americans ever since we’ve been here.

Whenever we have had land, we have had businesses, and we have had money.

When white people left cities to move to suburbs, it felt ok for a minute. Now they want those city houses, apartments, and prime real estate back. Can you say “gentrification”?

Well, the elected officials that represent Black people and their communities are happy to give the land back to rich white folk for a few dinners at a swanky restaurant, or a seat in the sky box at a football game, or a few dollars in an envelope passed under the table at a strip club.

When Black people begin to believe, “What’s happening to us is some bull sheet”. Rich people, not the poor, will say “Don’t listen to the activists or the messengers because they are only ranting and raving. They just want the low-paying job or the worthless title we want to give to you.”

Listen to the language. When poor people rebel and revolt, rich people go deep into their disparaging and demeaning descriptions.

Nat Turner and Denmark Vesey were animals, terrorists, and criminals who would kill innocent and rich children.

Words from cherished slave masters, who used Black babies for alligator food and stole and sold Black babies in front of crying mothers.

In other words, if you shoot and burn a baby, how is that worse than bombing, starving, and causing a baby to die of thirst or dying from being denied medical care?

When the baby of an oppressor and exploiter dies and the baby of a freedom fighter dies, both children are DEAD! No death of a child is better or more desirable than the deaths and murders of other children.

Allow parents, children, and babies to live peacefully on land(s) that families can call their own.

Until rich people with more soldiers, more guns, more planes, and more bombs refrain from taking land and territories from poorer people, the world will not know peace.

Children should never be considered second-class or lower-class citizens!  Children should never consider their homes to be open-air prisons inside of “prisons”. That never works. That strategy causes never-ending conflicts and confrontations.
