This metaphorical caption that Democracy is being “Gang-Raped provides a graphic description of how the principles and core values of Democracy perceptibly faces violation and abuse. The abusers in this metaphor are political Officials, supporters, and wealthy oligarchs. Who bears witness to this abomination? Who is the leader of this gang?
An “AI” Overview of this metaphor suggest that the writer is using a highly charged and sexually violent act to represent a severe violent or degradation of Democracy. For the writer, it is also meant to vividly highlight the Republican Party’s violation, and disrespect for America’s democratic principles and institutions.
Do Republicans’ Oaths to the U.S. Constitution have no meaning? Or are they devoid of integrity? The House and Senate’s approval of the President’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” represents an unarmed robbery of the U.S. Treasury by way of extended tax cuts for the wealthy. Also, it is the greatest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in history.
While Robin Hood is considered a folk hero, truthfully, he was a common thief. He led a bunch of thieves referred to as his merry men. By-the-way, folks running the government have destroyed the Robin Hood folklore by, instead, robbing the poor to enrich the wealthy!
Be aware of Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson’s perpetual smile and those standing beside him. Their smiles merely reveal “gashing teeth” echoing support for every assault against Democracy and our institutions. In the Old Testament of the Bible, “gashing of teeth” symbolizes anger, opposition, and separation from holiness.
Yes, those who have turned a “blind eye” to this assault on Democracy, again, include Republican Congresspersons as well as MAGA voters blinded by racism. Yet the extended list of those who bear witness includes regular Americans consumed by diversionary activities, acquiring stuff, leveragring debt to buy more stuff, and those lacking basic critical thinking skills. Can or will any of these individuals grasp the implications of this metaphor?
Still, the intended purpose of this metaphor is to use the visual imagery of gang rape to stab the conscience of readers such that they virtually experience the violation, powerlessness, painfulness, and depraved destruction of Democracy. The term gang definitively implies that multiple abusers planned and coordinated these assaults. Without shame, fear of the “Rule of Law or facing accountability, the raping continues.
Unfortunately, Democracy is as vulnerable as Jeffery Epstein’s victims. Democracy faces stripping of its power, as underage girls once faced molestation. The metaphor also implies that Democracy is forcibly brutalized and overpowered; thus, allowing corrupt and immoral individuals to achieve insatiable political gratification, wealth, and power.
Even the Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) conservative six Justices behave as coconspirators by creating hurdles and limiting immigrants access to legal protection for non-citizens. Women have already lost their reproductive rights by (SCOTUS)! Most states even have laws limiting access to abortion for rape victims. A prized mare impregnated by a rogue stallion is not forced to bear the foal.
America’s people cannot continue to allow diversionary activities to distract them, fold their arms, cry silently “woe is us,” and turn a blind eye,” towards Democracy’s perils. Metaphorically, America’s Democracy’s is being “gang-raped and the Treasury robbed. As for the Emoluments Clause, it has less respect than a three-legged horse in the Kentucky Derby.
