As a recap, America’s 47th President, President Trump, became only the second president to regain the Presidency after not winning a consecutive term. Having never conceded losing his second bid, President Trump may have scanned the political landscape and pictured it as a chessboard. Chess is considered a cerebral game, while checkers require fewer calculating moves and strategies. Democrats played checkers and still do.
President Trump, using his business acumen and leadership skills, Checkmated Democrats and their Presidential nominee. Now, he’s focused on dismantling the federal government’s colossal bureaucracy and eliminating wasteful expenditures.
It’s essential to note how President Trump used chess-like strategies to reclaim the Presidency. He strategically packed the Supreme Court, thus gaining a super-conservative majority. As in a chess game, this move solidified his defense of protection. He followed this defensive move by appointing conservative judges throughout the nation.
Democrats’ strategy to retain the Presidency again resembled a game of checkers. Regrettably, President Biden stumbled on the debate stage and shattered their checkerboard platform. Democratic Congresspersons circled him like a lame horse, lamenting that he would not regain his footing.
Democrats abruptly lost confidence in incumbent President Biden and forced him to abandon his second-term aspirations. This checker move had disastrous consequences. Lesson learned, Democrats: Republicans never questioned President Trump’s ability to win.
Democrats proceeded to make another thoughtless checkerboard move. Without acknowledging voters’ negative sentiments toward electing a female President, they hurriedly selected VP Kamala Harris, a Black woman, as their nominee. Despite being handicapped by Democrats’ less strategic checkerboard maneuvers, VP Harris ran a strong but unsuccessful race.
Without discrediting checker lovers, it’s necessary to identify another chess piece, Pawns, that symbolically led to Democrats being checkmated. As in chess, Democratic leaders and their Presidential nominees often responded as powerless blaming pawns. Admittedly, President Trump campaigned defiantly and convincingly promising to solve America’s social, economic, and political problems.
Presidents must never hesitate to use power to promote positive changes. Also, the courage to abandon relic norms should be the norm. Historically, a President’s defiance conveys a powerful yet endearing quality! Defiance can also rescue and protect an unraveling Democracy!
President Trump’s journey to reclaim the Presidency was not merely a chess game. It also included a bold vision to dismantle the USAID, thereby reducing the size of its bloated bureaucracy, eliminating wasteful spending, and enhancing efficiency. Still, vital foreign aid must continue to flow more efficiently. Otherwise, unwanted perils may come to America to roost.
The President acknowledged that such undertakings may be painful before achieving unprecedented governmental efficiency and solvency. Hopefully, all pains experienced by Americans will be short-lived before leading to a more prosperous and less divided America.
However, the people will determine the success of President Trump’s bold MAGA vision. Suppose their lives and livelihoods are uplifted economically, socially, and politically throughout the second term of his administration. In that case, a monumental milestone will have been achieved.
