Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindinghall (D-2) honors the Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida, Inc.
As proposed by School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall, District 2, during yesterday’s regular meeting, the Miami-Dade School Board honored the Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida, Inc. (HANA). HANA is one of the premier organizations that provide nurses the opportunity to unite and share interests related to the field of health and the welfare of communities in Florida and abroad.
Their mission is to increase the enrollment of nursing students through education and mentoring opportunities. Among their many initiatives, HANA provides scholarships for students enrolled in local nursing schools and in Haiti.
“As we celebrate the contributions of Haitian Americans during Haitian Heritage Month, it was my honor to recognize HANA for their great service in Florida and in Haiti. I salute HANA leadership and all nurses for keeping our children and families healthy,” stated Dr. Bendross-Mindingall.
