    April 1929 – March 2014

Another valiant soldier has fought a good fight, finished his course and gone on to receive his eternal reward. On Saturday, March 15th the Angel of Death came to escort the Late Dr. Norbert S. Marcelle, Jr. to his heavenly home. Dr. Marcelle was born 84 years ago, in Orlando, Fla. to the Late Bishop Dr. Norbert S. Marcelle, Sr. and Evangelist Melissa Evans.

Dr. N. S. Marcelle, Jr., was the 11th of 16 children born to this holy union. He attended grammar school and graduated from George Westinghouse High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1947. He pursued training at the New York School of Embalming and Restorative Arts. He graduated with a degree in Mortuary Science 1950.

In 1950, he married his fiancée and soul mate Beatrice Louise Davis. Six children were born to this union with posterity of 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The United States Army drafted Dr. Marcelle during the Korean War. He served as an Embalmer/Grave Registration Specialist from 1951 to 1953 until he was honorably discharged.

Dr. Marcelle moved his family to Palm Beach County in 1984, where he and his wife opened Marcelle Funeral Home and Flower Shop.  However, after having consistent prayer services in the funeral home they realized a higher calling.

The Emmanuel Deliverance Church of God was founded by Bishop N. S. Marcelle, Jr. and his wife Beatrice Marcelle in 1986. They started the church with two additional members and $100.

We celebrate Dr. N.S. Marcelle, Jr’s life in the community as an advocate and committed activist. He dutifully served as an exceptional leader and President of P.E.A.C.E – People Engaged in Active Community Efforts (1996-2002), as well as D.A.R.T – Direct Action Research Training Network (1998-2002).

Home-Going Celebration was held March 22, 2014, 10 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Full Gospel Church 1111 36th St., West Palm Beach, Fla., and Entombment was in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, West Palm Beach, Fla. Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Ave., West Palm Beach, Fla. 33407 (561) 848-8659, in charge of arrangements.
