Dr. Rosalind Osgood, a 56-year-old community activist, is the new Florida State District 33 Senator. District 33 includes Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale Lakes, Lauderhill, North Lauderdale, Oakland Park, Pompano, Margate, Tamarac, and Sunrise. Dr. Osgood is an associate minister at the New Mount Olive Baptist Church and recently resigned as chair of the School Board of Broward County. She made headlines last year as her school board defied Governor Ron DeSantis when he banned mask mandates in schools and threatened the pay of school board members and superintendents. She intends on making change not only for the communities in District 33 but all over Florida.
