As a candidate for the mayor of Lauderdale Lakes, Beverly Williams is ready to move the city forward. Williams, a 50-year resident of the city, was vice-mayor and commissioner during her previous tenure.
“We’re the center of Broward County, and I want to push policies that will ensure Lakes is a viable, attractive, and safe city for our residents to be proud of. While the Lakes Mall is doing well, small businesses are the backbone of any community, and potential owners should feel welcome to make Lauderdale Lakes home.”
Williams is no stranger to politics or community activism, and her resume’ boasts an impressive list of achievements to propel her into the office. She has served as President of the League of Cities, and on the Board of Directors, President of Eastgate Homeowners’ Association, Community Council, and served seven years on the Broward Planning Council and the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). Williams founded and developed two community gardens which have grown unlimited fresh produce for the community. The garden earned Broward County’s Emerald Award and was featured in the National Wildlife Magazine. She is currently President of Friends of the Library in Lauderdale Lakes.
Williams’ leadership was also instrumental in the development of an 85 million dollar development, VIVA, in the northern part of the city, which has added to its tax base.
Williams’ focus and agenda will include public safety and collaborative efforts with the police department, improvement with code enforcement procedures, attract new businesses, continue efforts to improve the city’s infrastructure, and uphold the moto: We Care!”
“Experience is an important component of public service, and I believe my previous accomplishments as a commissioner and acquired knowledge serving on county-wide boards, will be an asset if I’m elected mayor of Lauderdale Lakes.”

Our retirees, working adults, and new homeowners deserve and expect a safe haven to call home. I intend to be the catalyst to spark change as Lauderdale Lakes moves boldly into the future.”
