LOWELL, Mass. – Former Bethune Cookman Football player Jimmie Robinson III and the Massachusetts Pirates have secured a spot in the upcoming Indoor Football League (IFL) Championship game taking place Saturday, Aug. 17, in Henderson, Nevada.
Robinson, now in his second season with the Massachusetts Pirates, has rushed for 1,107 yards on 238 carries through 18 games this season.
He has scored 31 touchdowns on the ground, while hauling in another four touchdowns through the air with 61 catches for 457 yards receiving. On special teams, Robinson has 1,000 yards in kickoff return action with one touchdown.
The Pirates upset the Green Bay Blizzard at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday, Aug. 3, in the Eastern Conference Championship. That sets up a showdown against Arizona for the IFL Championship, after the Rattlers defeated the San Diego Strike Force in the Western Conference Championship game.

In Massachusetts’ win over Green Bay, the Palm Coast native Robinson rushed for 108 yards – his second-highest total of the campaign, and two touchdowns, while registering three kickoff returns for 64 yards in his team’s 51-28 victory.
For Robinson, one of his best games this season was 109 yards rushing against the Jacksonville Sharks, as well as five rushing touchdowns in a game at the San Antonio Gunslingers.
Last year, Robinson captured three All-IFL accolades, including All-Rookie, Second Team kick returner and All-First Team running back.
