Hey campers! Mark your calendars for June 19-22, 2025, when Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) hosts the Southern Association for Women’s Historian (SAWH) Triennial Conference. This four-day summit will be held at the Mary McLeod Bethune Institute and will focus on the challenges women face as professionals and caretakers.
*A First for HBCUs*
B-CU is proud to be the first historically Black college or university (HBCU) to host this conference. The event coincides with the 150th birthday celebration of B-CU founder Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, a true trailblazer.
*Call for Proposals*
Professors, students, historians, teachers, advocates, and scholars are invited to submit proposals to present research or participate as panelists on topics like gender equity, body image, and maternal wellness. Visit TheSAWH.org for more info.
*A Safe Space for Timely Conversations*
Dr. Crystal A. DeGregory, conference coordinator and director of the Bethune Institute, says, “This conference will be a safe space for timely conversations aimed at affecting real change.” Don’t miss this opportunity to join the conversation and celebrate Dr. Bethune’s legacy!
