With many school districts having to make the difficult choice to cut art programs, Genesis Inspiration Foundation— a nonprofit organization committed to improving educational outcomes for children through the arts—is funding enriching art education programs that inspire youth development beyond the classroom. Research shows when a child has access to the arts, he or she has can be inspired to be creative thinkers and engaged to pursue academic excellence. And, with mental health challenges on the rise, data reflects that children who have an arts outlet show far better improvement.

Description automatically generatedOn March 8, Genesis Inspiration Foundation presented $50,000 to Young At Art (YAA)—the nationally and internationally recognized, award-winning, one-of-a-kind children’s art museum, and a leading non-profit cultural organization that enriches our community through artistic, interactive experiences for all ages to inspire creativity and encourage an understanding of the world in which we live.

The museum, located inside the Broward Mall in Plantation, FL showcases immersive contemporary exhibits along with artmaking stations meant to create meaningful bonds between families. Programming such as classes, workshops, and camps for low-income communities, at-risk teen girls, and Title I students allow for equitable and accessible art experiences. During the event on March 8, the youth participating in the programming shared their stories and the artistic work they have achieved at YAA.

Founded in 2018, the Genesis Inspiration Foundation has awarded more over $10 million in support of arts education programming in communities nationwide.

Since 1989, YAA has inspired and enriched the lives of children and adults through its galleries, educational programs, public events, and community initiatives, impacting over 200,000 individuals each year.
