Black women are the largest demographic in the Democratic Party, and they understand the importance of voting. Voting is a pledge of honor for Black women and their numbers are off the charts. On the other hand, Black men are the opposite and a large percentage think voting is a waste of time.
Many Black men have felonies and legally they are not able to vote because of their record. It is easy to make excuses why the older Black men cannot pay their court cost, and they cannot vote, and young Black Men under the age of thirty just don’t care.
In 2024, President Biden and Vice President Harris know that to win the election, the key is the Black vote. It is easy for President Biden to say what he has done for America, but hard to say what he has done specifically for Black men. The system is set up for Black men to fail, and in many major cities, fifty percent of Black men don’t have jobs.
If fifty percent of Black men don’t have jobs, voter depression has set in, and many do not care who is running for office. Instead of wondering who is running for office, a large percentage of Black men are trying to figure out who has the best drugs and marijuana.
On the other hand, Black women are focused on their education and figuring out what degree or license they need to get a well paying job. They understand that politics is important, because the right person in office can help you move ahead. Every election is critical and it is important to care and cast your vote.
Instead of looking for the good weed, Black men should be helping the police get rid of drugs and cleaning up the community.
In 2024, voting, registering, and politics should be top of mind in the Black community. There are major problems in many cities for Black men, and how can the Democrats get Black men excited about voting.
In the last election a young brother named Cedric Humphrey asked a question central to the problem with voting with Black men. “Many Black men believe they won’t vote at all in the election. What do you have to say to Black men who see voting for the system as further participation in a system that continuously fails to protect them,”
In cities across the country, Black men are still getting shot, and abused by the police with violence at any time. There is a constant battle with the police and the Black men. Since many young Black men under thirty do not trust the system, they have no reason to vote.
In 2024, the Democrats must change the thinking of Black men young and old, who thrive on inaction and apathy. The Biden and Harris campaign must provide Black men with enthusiasm and excitement that spills over to Black women, and democrats in general.
At this time, there is a particular voter depression in the Black male demographic and there is a major challenge for the Biden and Harris campaign. With voter depression, it is very difficult for Black men to go to the polls, because it is not a priority.
Voting must become a priority for Black men young and old, and they must be registered and excited to help get each other to the polls. Voting must be a pledge of honor, and Black men must brag about voting locally, statewide, and nationally.
