    The Gantt Report

    By Lucius Gantt

Today’s column was written and distributed on November 3, 2024. I hope everyone went to the polls and voted for the candidate of your choice.

I sincerely hope the best candidate will prevail, but I told readers months ago what would happen.

Just like Supreme Court Justices, Democratic Party consultants on every level will keep their jobs and contracts for life and it doesn’t matter if Democrats win or lose.

The 2024 effort to achieve victory was akin to Democratic strategies in the 1950s and 1960s.

Winning election work must be planned, must be coordinated, must be perfectly timed, and must be messaged properly and effectively.

The campaign ideas that suggest most Democratic campaign money should be spent to influence and motivate male MAGA Democrats must be discredited and abandoned.
    Can I prove it? Yes!

There is no way in hell Donald Trump could get over 56% of men to vote for him unless male MAGA Democrats went into voting booths and cast ballots for the so-called Russian Babayka.

I don’t need to tell you the Democratic timing was off if Vice President Harris wanted or needed an extraordinary voter turnout. The Democratic GOTV effort started way too late. GOTV should have started weeks before early voting began, not weeks and weeks afterward. GOTV efforts must be done in coordination with other campaign activities like paid media, free media, mailing, phoning, texting, canvassing, and other efforts and activities. It’s better when campaign supporters work together.

No matter what you think about the color of a consultant’s skin having more importance or value than the color of a consultant’s hair or eyes, the Democratic nominee needed a “Black Attack”, so to speak. Black voters, the base of the Democratic Party, respond politically better when they hear messages from Black voices that they know and trust. For instance, we all know our Black community activists and we trust male and female freedom fighters and truth-tellers.

Democrats can use “outside” consultants just like Republicans do. You see what Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, and other Trump supporters do. Whatever outsiders do, the campaign can deny it, but they also can’t express it. All Democrats have to say is, “You know how he or she is. They are paid by an outside committee or an outside labor union or law firm. They are not paid by the Party or the campaign.”

When Democrats can’t get 80% or 90% of Black votes cast, don’t blame Black voters, blame non-Black consultants and advisors!

In 2024, your sisters and brothers were the first to contribute, the first to endorse, and the first to vote early.

If organized labor can contribute a reasonable percentage of money to Democratic campaign coffers and get ALL campaign printing dollars, you tell me why Black businesses can’t get the same benefits based on their contributions and Democratic votes?

Don’t go to sleep and dream about every printer in the printer’s union voting for the same political party candidates.

2024 union leaders can endorse and vote one way and union members and workers can vote another way.

The only block vote in America is the Black vote! Too many political candidates take your votes for granted.

Some candidates you love get Black votes the hard way!
