As the 2019 high school graduates head off to the college this week, three young male graduates will go away carrying a very unique award with them.
In May, Give and Go Moving and Delivery Company, had the pleasure of presenting these students with this award at the Dillard High School’s Award Night Ceremony.
These students were selected based on an essay about their future aspirations and their grade point average. Of the eleven students that submitted an application, three were selected; Alonzo Frederic, Jamal Jackson and Hansly Nicolas. At the ceremony, these students were presented a suit bag filled with business attire, complete with socks and shoes and toiletry items.
Give and Go Moving and Delivery Company is a moving company that specializes in residential and commercial moving and delivery whose mission is to provide excellent service. The owner, Marcus Durham, also has another mission of giving back to the community. This is the third year of this project’s existence.
In the first year, one student was selected from Deerfield Beach High School. Last year this award was presented to two students who graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Miami Florida.
This year he was able to increase the number of awards given and plans to continue in the future. Marcus’ desire is to impact these young men’s lives and assist them in pursuing their goals. His dream is to someday establish a nonprofit organization aimed at enriching the lives of young males.
