On March 25th RAM (Remote Area Medical) a non-profit organization set up its 2nd Annual Pop-up Clinic, which was hosted by Mount Olivet S.D.A. Church, under the leadership of Dr. Fred Batten, Jr., Pastor. The event took place at Joseph C. Carter Park which was transformed into a FREE Clinic venue for the next 2 days. RAM partnered with Mount Olivet and provided FREE Vision (eye exams, glaucoma testing, and glasses made on site); Dental (fillings, cleanings, and extractions); Medical (general medical, Women’s Health, and more) during this 2-day clinic.

We made every effort to recruit our community, and they were serviced on a first come, first serve basis. Their determination played a big role as the patients waited for these services. There were approximately 321 persons registered at this clinic, and those served were provided $138,486 in services that were free to them. These 3 days surely demonstrated just how God blessed the efforts through this FREE Clinic, the volunteers, members of the community who were in desperate need.

More importantly, our goal was to be of maximum service throughout this clinic. Our many volunteers attended to every aspect of the patients’ needs. Our volunteers consisted of retirees, professionals, college students, and common folks who traveled from near and far (across the United States).  This displayed the humility in their hearts for God’s Children.

Our sponsors included:  James C. Boyd Funeral Home, Cysson Enterprises, SunLife Ob/Gyn Services, IThink Financial, Holmes & Sons Roofing & Painting, People’s Choice Restaurant, Like Wise Mobile Notary Service, Il Mulino Restaurant, King Security, TRU Hotel by Hilton, Mount Olivet Church along with Mount Olivet Community Services, Healthy Mother’s Healthy Babies, Inc.

We would like to thank our advertisers for helping us to reach our community: WEXY 1520, WHQT Hot 105 and Rodney Baltimore, Bobby Henry and the Westside Gazette. Job Well Done Hands of God!
