Nothing in the psychology of White people should surprise Americans, because mental sickness exists every day. The reality of Republican leadership is built around power, and Florida is racing to rewrite slavery, one of the darkest periods in American history.
Systemic racism is based on the degree of skin color that exist, and the whiter you are determines your net worth. It starts with family members, and it extends to cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and eventually success. Color determines a country’s leadership ability in the world, and the system is set up globally that way.
“Instead of focusing on issues that matter to everyday Floridians, Ron DeSantis has remained hellbent on zeroing in on rolling back the freedoms of Floridians to make decisions about their own bodies, to read certain books in schools, and to learn about our full history. Florida’s new standards for teaching American history are nothing but a political stunt meant to push propaganda on our children and whitewash our country’s long, painful history with slavery and systemic racism,” says DNC Chair Jaime Harrison.
Recently, there are new statewide standards for African Americans that passed our State Board of Education. Middle school students in Florida will soon be taught that slavery gave Black people a “personal benefit” because they “developed skills.” This is a distorted view of Black people and racism, because Black men and women were considered 3/5 of a human person.
When you are 3/5 of a person, you are considered chattel, and can be sold at anytime, and women can be raped like a dog or animal. White men during slavery controlled everything and if a Black man refused to work, they were beaten almost to death.
“Adults know what slavery really involved. It involved rape. It involved torture. It involved taking a baby from their mother. It was some of the worst examples of depriving people of humanity in the world. We will not stand for it. We who share a collective experience in knowing we must honor history, and our duty in the context of legacy,” says Vice President Harris.
As Governor DeSantis and the State Board of Education try to whitewash the history of slavery in America and Florida, banning books cannot stop the truth of American history. After slavery there was the Reconstruction era, and violence raised its ugly head, and Black men were lynched for trying to vote.
It is impossible to whitewash American history, because Black children will be educated by their families, the church, and Black organizations. Truth will always find its way. Our kids are going to be in this world and international people will know our history better than us.
As high school students will be taught a distorted view of the truth, they will study the truth from their cell phones. Historians educate Americans that race massacres occurred during the early 1900s, led by white vigilante groups, to stop Black residents from voting. It is now happening today, and white politicians (Republicans) are repressing the vote all over the country.
Governor DeSantis and the Republicans will continue to repress the truth and stop freedoms, but the voice of the people will eventually win. Keep working on the side of truth, and lies eventually come to the light.
