HANDY (Helping Abused Neglected Disadvantaged Youth)

HANDY (Helping Abused Neglected Disadvantaged Youth), an award-winning non-profit organization that provides life skills, education and a supportive community for Broward County children in foster and relative/nonrelative care associated with the child dependency system, kicked off the holiday season with a “Christmas in the Sky” fundraiser at The Tower Club in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, October 24. HANDY Youth, Kadesha Clark Vaughn, shared her inspiring story with guests. Clark Vaughn graduated high school because of the support of the HANDY program and she is currently on a HANDY Book Scholarship attending Broward College and working to complete her Associate’s Degree. The event raised $44,000, which will help HANDY Youth and families this holiday season. HANDY will be purchasing holiday gifts for all of HANDY’s Youth with the funds raised.
