Jackson State is scheduled to play an in-state FBS opponent during the 2025 regular season.

According to FBSchedules.com, Southern Miss. added Jackson State to its fall football schedule.

The website reported the game will be played at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The Eagles will pay the Tigers a $375,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to the copy of the contract, according to FBSchedules.

Southern Miss and Jackson State last met on the gridiron in 2018, which resulted in a 55-7 victory for the Golden Eagles. The two schools have played three times overall, and Southern Miss leads the series 3-0.

Jackson State is coming off a 2024 season in which it won the SWAC and Celebration Bowl to take the Black College national championship for the first time since 1996.
