The Gantt Report
By Lucius Gantt
If the only history in the world is white history, perhaps the Black History Exhibits in the Smithsonian should include exhibits of colonialism, imperialism, and caveman-type racism.
President Donald Trump was raised in a racist household. His father was a strong advocate of the Ku Klux Klan and his family business was sued for refusing to rent housing in New York to African American tenants.
Trumpâs racist belief that Black history began and ended with American slavery is indicative of his lack of knowledge and his desire to always distort the accomplishments of people with African ancestry.
In the Presidentâs wicked mind, âwokeâ means âhonestâ. The United Statesâ âLiar in Chiefâ has suggested in social media posts that the slavery of kidnapped Africans was a good thing for slavers, overseers, and enslaved Black people.
I met and interviewed Carter G. Woodson in Washington, D.C. I was producing a documentary called âThe Soul of Black Musicâ about gospel influences in blues, jazz, and other forms of Black music for National Public Radio. The documentary aired on 77 radio stations in the United States.
When I got inside the Woodson home, there were books everywhere, on bookcases, on tables, on the floor, and everywhere else.
I was fascinated with Dr. Woodson and, now, Iâm like our great historian, I have books in every room of my home too except the bathrooms.
I expect racists like Donald Trump to deny, degrade, and demean Black and African culture and history. All people of color should ignore the Presidentâs lies about American history.
African American history is part and parcel of American history. Blacks fought in every American war or conflict. Black contributions to American history are enduring and everlasting.
The new Gantt Report digital platform, theganttreporttruth.com, is avoided by most people who troll the worldwide web because the contents currently have to be read.
Slavers, slave traders, overseers, and other whites in the days of slavery and colonialism often said, âIf you want to hide something from Black people, put it in a book!â
It is important to me to leave a record that Black history is not only an aspect of American history, Black history is important to world history.
Donât be surprised that Trump has called for the suppression of Black history just like he has tried to suppress Black votes in this country.
Even Trumpâs Black supporters like Tim Scott and Byron Donalds realize now that Donald Trump feels the same way about them as he feels about all other Blacks in the United States.
Black parents must teach Black children that they have history, they have value, they have wisdom, and they have cultural significance.
Book bans, museum misinformation, and community disrespect, is experienced by every non-white citizen in America.
Later this year, when you shop for holiday toys, buy a book to go with the Play Station and the X-Box.
We have to teach and educate our children.
My children were exposed to Black history and culture at an early age. They have heard speeches by Martin, Malcolm, Marcus, Huey, Selassie, Nelson, and many other historical people in Black culture.
They may have preferred to listen to James Brown music, but now they can be proud that their parents thought it was beneficial for them to know our history and our experiences in America.
Donât let Trump or anyone else teach you to hate yourself and hate your race!
Also, donât depend on the Liar in Chief to describe Black History or African History and donât let anyone hijack your history!
