The Gantt Report

I wrote my first book of Gantt Report columns a long, long time ago. More than a few friends said I was crazy for writing the book’s title, “I Talked About the Beast”. Of course, people seeking to disparage me, and the book suggested I was referring to a particular race.
I was not. The title referred to a Bible verse in the Book of Revelations that asked the question, “Who among us will fight the beast”.
Twenty years later, one of my friends who challenged my book’s outspokenness, gave me what I considered my greatest compliment when he said, “Lucius, you were before your time!”
In 2018, I wrote a column about “The Satans in the States” and the predictions in the column were pretty much ignored.
Today, voters still can’t understand why the government seems to be in shambles.
Perhaps voter misunderstanding is magnified because American voters have not been educated about how government and politics really work.
This year, 2024, is a Presidential election year. Qualified voters will go to the polls to cast ballots for President Joe Biden or Putin’s puppet, former President Donald Trump.
However, Biden and Trump are not the political candidates who make the political decisions that impact Black and other people of color the most.
It is the state legislators in the United States proposing and passing the state laws that deny civil rights, deny and suppress voting rights, deny women’s rights to make their own choices about health care, deny immigrants opportunities to seek asylum, deny funding for minority business programs and diversity, equity and inclusion programs, deny colleges opportunities to teach and discuss Critical Race Theory, deny efforts to increase the number of affordable homes and housing, decrease opportunities for Blacks and people of color to participate in government purchasing transactions, and it is the state legislators that gerrymander state and federal political districts and refuse to accept court orders to make political districts fairer.
Donald Trump has decided to sell his version of the Bible and some of his state government sidekicks will be the first to purchase his unholy, sacrilegious, hypocritical, and blasphemous Bible with the Constitution, and Declaration of Independence included that most current state legislators never read or refer to.
If all Black registered voters who go to the polls cast ballots for Democrat Joe Biden and fail to vote against the Satans in the states, Blacks and other people of color will continue to catch political hell.
Attacks on and investigations of Black judges and Black prosecutors will continue and increase, law enforcement misconduct and brutality will continue, and Blacks and all other people of color will continue to be misunderstood, mistreated, misled, and bamboozled by state legislators who do the political damage that you despise so much!
I know I don’t write like the columnists you love but I write about important and righteous subjects whether other columnists like The Gantt Report or not!
