FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Holy Cross Health has completed its first procedure with the latest generation of Inspire® therapy, the Inspire V™ System. Since establishing their Inspire therapy program in 2023, Holy Cross Health has impacted the lives of dozens of patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) by helping them breathe easier and sleep better.
Inspire therapy is an easy-to-use, mask-free1 solution for people with moderate to severe OSA who have tried and struggled with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines. It has a proven safety record with 99.6% of Inspire implant procedures successfully completed without any major complications.1 The implanted Inspire device syncs with a patient’s natural breathing pattern and works comfortably2 inside the body to keep the airway open while sleeping, successfully reducing the number of sleep apnea events each night by 79%.3
The Inspire V System is an innovative advancement in Inspire therapy, designed for a more simplified procedure. With a new integrated respiratory sensor, the Inspire V System eliminates the need for physicians to place a separate sensing lead and instead allows for respiratory sensing to occur inside of the implant.
“We’re proud to have successfully performed the first Inspire V procedure at Holy Cross Health,” said Sam Kosseifi, M.D., a board-certified sleep medicine physician at Holy Cross Heath. “Inspire therapy marks a major step forward in sleep apnea treatment. It’s clinically proven to reduce sleep apnea events and is associated with high patient satisfaction and strong adherence to therapy.”
According to Inspire, 93% of patients who have received the implant would recommend it to a friend or family member who suffers from OSA. To learn more about Inspire therapy, visit inspiresleep.com or holy-cross.com/services/pulmonary-care/inspire-therapy.
