   The Gantt Report supports Congresswoman Omar.
Ilhan Abdullahi Omar is a Somali-American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Minnesotaâs 5th congressional district since 2019. The district includes all of Minneapolis and some of its suburbs.
US House of Representative Omar has been roundly criticized for comments deemed anti-Semitic and hateful of Jews.
Well, if Omar truly hated Semites, she may be hating her own kind.
You see, many people think Black Egyptians, or Sumerians, later called Semites, were the forefathers of Hebrews. Today, it is not unusual to hear talk about Hebrew Israelites, Black Jews and so forth.
Anyway, Rep. Omarâs internet post that mentioned âAll about the Benjaminsâ when posting about government lobbying and political contributions by Jewish PACs (political action comities) was followed by clap backs from Democrat and Republican elected officials that may have gotten campaign contributions or endorsements from Jewish groups.
It is certainly wrong to criticize people that practice Judaism or some other faith but I donât see anything wrong with expressing your opinion about the Israeli government, the US government, the Russian government, the Nigerian government or any other government!
You may criticize the relationship between the Israeli government and African immigrants and refugees, you may criticize the apartheid-like treatment of Palestinians and you may even dispute the involvement of Jews in the transatlantic slave trade.
You have freedom of speech, The Gantt Report has freedom of speech and so does Representative Omar.
The US House of Representatives recently passed a resolution opposing all forms of hateful comments and Representative Omar joined her Congressional colleagues and voted in favor of the resolution.
I donât think Omar is anti-Semitic or anti-Jew. She appears to be fond of her Islamic faith and her Muslim believers.
Call me wrong but criticisms about comments by outspoken Blacks are not always about comments, sometimes Blacks are criticized because they are Black!
They are arrested because they are Black, denied housing because they are Black, denied loans because they are Black and even shot dead in broad day light because they are Black!
My only suggestion to Rep. Omar is that she be mindful that her personal comments will almost always be construed as her official Congressional comments of a reflection of her constituentâs feelings or understandings.
Rep. Omar, do not be silenced! Continue to stand up and speak out!
Just be careful because the political devil is tricky, tricky, tricky!
