WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Recently, Representative Lois Frankel (FL-22) hosted a roundtable in honor of Black History Month, where several local artists, educators, and community leaders attended to discuss the impactful intersection of African Americans and the arts—this year’s Black History Month theme—within the Palm Beach County community.
The artists shared insights into their significant contributions to the local arts scene and explored how art serves as a powerful medium for expressing a message, connecting, and inspiring people, and fostering pride in our communities. The group shared perspectives on the importance of diverse artistic representation, how we can better reach and involve children in the arts, and the positive emotional response they’ve seen art bring out from community members. Following the conclusion of the roundtable, Rep. Frankel presented Ms. Bowman and Mr. Burks with a special recognition from Congress, acknowledging and appreciating their unique contributions to Palm Beach County.
