India’s External Affairs Minister To Visit Three Central European Countries From Sept. 2-5

NEW DELHI — S. Jaisankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, is all set to pay an official visit to Slovenia, Croatia, and Denmark between Sept. 2 and Sept. 5 as part of a tour to review the bilateral relationship with the three Central European countries.

A Ministry of External Affairs statement said this visit will provide an opportunity to review the progress in India’s bilateral ties with these three countries and strengthen multifaceted relationships with the European Union.


“External Affairs Minister will be in Slovenia from Sept. 2-3 2021. Slovenia currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and has invited External Affairs Minister to attend an informal meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of E.U. Member States on Sept. 3, 2021,” said the Ministry of External Affairs in the statement.

“External Affairs Minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of Slovenia H.E. Dr. Anze Logar, apart from calling on the Slovenian leadership.”

“Slovenia currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and has invited External Affairs Minister to attend an informal meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of European Union’s Member States on Sept. 3,” said the Ministry of External Affairs.

Jaishankar holds a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of Slovenia Anze Logar, apart from calling on the Slovenian leadership. External Affairs Minister will attend the Bled Strategic Forum being held in Slovenia and participate in the panel discussion on “Partnership for a Rules-Based Order in the Indo-Pacific.”

Bled Strategic Forum is an annual international conference organized since 2006. It is hosted in Bled, Slovenia. Its aim is to be a platform to express contrasting opinions on modern society and its future. It’s a leading conference of leaders of Central and South-East Europe.

He will hold discussions with his European Union counterparts on issues of mutual interest.

During his visit to Croatia on Sept. 3, External Affairs Minister will hold bilateral talks with Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman and call on the Croatian leadership. During his visit to Denmark on Sept. 4-5, the External Affairs Minister will co-chair the 4th round of the Indo-Danish Joint Commission Meeting and Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod.

The Joint Commission Meeting will undertake a comprehensive review of our bilateral cooperation under the Green Strategic Partnership, established during the Virtual Summit in September 2020. External Affairs Minister will also call on Danish dignitaries.

“The visit of Jaisankar will provide an opportunity for reviewing the progress in our bilateral ties with the three Central European countries and for strengthening our multifaceted relationship with the European Union,” said the Ministry of External Affairs.
