Does Biden fall on Republicans’ sword of vengeance, racism, ideology of white supremacy, and their desires to create a permanent divided nation or does he use the inherent powers of the Presidency to protect and save the Nation? — John Johnson

President Biden is proving to be the ultimate diplomat at home as well as abroad. His efforts to save Ukraine’s democracy, barring no financial limits, aren’t without grave risks to our own economy. This comes on top of the two trillion-dollar senseless twenty year struggle in Afghanistan. Bridge the two financial drains and you could fill the Grand Canyon with taxpayers’ dollars. Yet, Biden appears oblivious to Republicans’ war at home against democracy.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, with the help of NATO Alliances, is waging heroic battles against Putin’s army. However, Biden refuses to acknowledge that Republicans and their base of white nationalists have determined that this democracy no longer favors white supremacy ideology and that they’ll become a minority by 2045.
In other words, a democracy that seeks to become more inclusive, more tolerant to changing mores, and willing to change laws/Amendments to protect minorities is of no value to Republicans. When democracy’s enemies emerge from within or abroad, is it not the President/Commander-In-Chief’s solemn oath to the U.S. Constitution to defend this Nation?
Could it be that Biden’s definition of enemy differs markedly from the one given by Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary? For added clarity, the definition of enemy is, “One that is antagonistic to another; or one especially seeking to injure or to overthrow.” Would you characterize the January 6, 2021, insurrectionists and Republican Congressperson involved in the plot to overthrow the government as patriots or enemies?
Florida’s governor DeSantis has declared war on anyone who speaks out against his repressive policies. He considers Disney as Ft. Sumpter and has vowed to conquer it. Florida once a “free state,” he’s turned again into a gun carrying slave like state. His political war tactics are emblematic of Confederate traitors.
Despite that Rolling Stones report claimed former President Trump ignited the insurrection and several Congresspersons helped, none face indictments. Yet, there’s mounting evidence, such as meetings held and emails forwarded, that reveals their level of covert involvement and support. Their war continues under Trump’s leadership!
At this very moment, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy is threatening to allow the government to default on its debt if President Biden doesn’t concede to his draconian cuts to the budget. If they fail to raise the debt ceiling, this is tantamount to setting off a small nuclear bomb to our economy. Millions would lose their jobs, senior citizens would go without their social security checks, the nation’s credit rating would plummet, and households as well as businesses would collapse.
Is it not evident that Biden and none of his Cabinet Members as well as leading democrats have done a credible job of calling out Republicans. Their willingness to hold the government hostage and engage in a game of Russian Roulette with the budget is treacherous. Their war like strategy is to strong arm Biden into submission.
Biden’s failure to constantly go before the American people to inform them that this Nation’s number “1” enemy is the Republican Party and the House of Representatives, led by Kevin McCarthy is problematic. Failure to act decisively is unacceptable.
Unless he’s able to galvanize the people to raise their voices and protest by the hundreds of thousands, this debt crisis will hang like an albatross around the necks of all Americans. Republicans are far too stubborn to seriously work towards reaching a compromise. No democracy flourishes without compromising. Republicans are prepared to gleefully watch our economy crumble.
Can you imagine the serious dilemma King Solomon would’ve faced had the real mother not decided to surrender her love for her baby rather than have it cut in half. This woman’s true love for this baby demonstrated that she was its real mother.
Former President Lincoln faced a major dilemma during his presidency; “Should he concede to the demands of Southern slave owners who vowed to maintain slavery and to expand it forward?” Lincoln held to his fervent belief that a nation divided against itself couldn’t stand. He also expressed his hatred of slavery during a speech given on July 10, 1858, in Chicago, Illinois. His decision to engage in the Civil War saved the Union and ended slavery.
Unfortunately, President Biden finds himself faced with a similar life and death situation. However, it doesn’t involve a baby or a loving mother nor slavery . Regrettably, it involves a Republican Party driven by anti-democratic beliefs, lust for power to suppress and control others, and an innate hatred towards minorities, especially Black people, immigrants, and members of the LGBTQ Community.
In a democracy, patriots use the ballot to seize power as well as to oust an opposing political party. Republicans have mastered the art of using gerrymandering to gain control of local and state governments. With this control, they’re able to craft legislations which tramples the rights of minorities and empowers their base of white nationalists. Their anti-democratic actions undermine the fundamental tenets of our democracy.
