Jean Robert Lafortune is one of the founders and Chair of the Haitian American Grassroots Coalition, a well-known Civil and Human Rights organization, advocating for the well-being of low-income Haitian nationals, Haitian Refugees and Haitian Migrants residing in the United States. He has coled several campaigns to preserve the basic rights of due process of Haitians and other immigrants including, the Haitian Immigration Refugees Fairness Act of 1998, Family Reunification, Temporary Protected Status and many others for the past 30 years. Jean Robert is a unique and only son. FANM joins its voices with those of the global diaspora to express our deepest sympathies to Jean Robert and his entire family.
