    The Gantt Report

    By Lucius Gantt

Some Blacks, and others in different racial groups will hate the ground you walk on, and hate the airwaves you speak on and the publications and platforms that you write on.

Everyone knows a truth-teller. The truth-tellers are the men and women who no one wants to speak at the Black History program, the MLK Day Program, or the Juneteenth Bar-Be-Que.

Let me tell you why it’s hard for a truth-teller. If he or she is employed, attempts will be made to fire the truth-teller.

If that doesn’t stop the truth, the truth-teller will be jailed.  When the facts are considered in the courtroom, and, the truth-teller will prevail.

However, too many litigants can’t represent themselves and can’t afford a lawyer inwrongful termination court battles.

One other way to tell who is really a truth-teller, is to look at who was killed in their truth-telling journey.        Haters killed Jesus, Martin, Malcolm, tens of African leaders, and freedom fighters.

Every community, every neighborhood, every church, and every school has men and women who are not afraid to tell the truth, not afraid to stand up, and not afraid to fight for what is right

Too many Black people get all of the information they desire from the internet. They figure when an internet poster posts a 15-second stolen clip, they read it and share it with 100 people, thinking it’s the truth

During and after slavery days, Blacks got the truth by reading Black publications. Every Black American over 60 has read Ebony or Jet magazines or a Black newspaper like The Atlanta World or, the Pittsburg Courier.

We knew the truth about what happened to Emitt Till, Medgar Evers, or Marcus Garvey because our people read sometimes.

If we want to know how to solve Black community problems, our directions are available at many Libraries, public or private.

If you have to believe in something, why not believe in the truth? The people you love to listen to, the people you pay to speak to your graduates, speak to your professional groups, preach to your church groups, and so forth, have been the worst shepherds in thePasture!

They are leading you around in circles.  How many more years will you be satisfied to join hands with nationalists, supremacists, klansmenand nazis and sing, “We Shall Overcome”?

I believe the next great truth-teller is YOU! When oppressors want to hide truths from Black people They put the truth in books.

Know your history, know your warriors and warrior queens, and know truth-tellers today, it’s all about Black money Black land, and Black progress.

It’s hard out here for a truth-teller, but pressure makes diamonds. Shine in your community!
