Trump is the master at stacking the judicial courts and political system with sycophant enablers. He does this, which is identical to how the Mafia Boss behaved in the “Godfather,” to wield power and collect favors. Usually, his modus operandi is to dispatch one or more of his lawyers to relay his requests. As you’re aware, Trump recently used this tactic to procure Judicial Judge, Aileen Cannon, whom he nominated. He specifically chose her to review his request for a special master.
Instead of recusing herself from this case because of the perception of impropriety, she gave no indication that this was of any concern to her. In fact, she appeared indebted to Trump for having procured her services. Remember, she has only been on the job for two years. Subsequently, this case may make her a shining “conservative star” for nomination for the Supreme Court.
The language I’ve used to characterize Judge Cannon’s behavior is as a metaphor to dramatize the callousness by which she performed her judicial duties and disregard of her “Oath.” We need to ask her if she recalls the part that reads, “I will administer justice without respect to persons….” Former president Trump shouldn’t receive any preferential treatment nor should protecting his reputation be a factor.
During her confirmation, she stated without deliberation, her willingness to recuse herself when necessary to avoid any pretense of impropriety. Wow! She even lies like her procurer.
This case has become a significant judicial milestone because for the first time it involved the search and seizure of confidential documents from the home of a former president.
Next, Judge Cannon, without a sliver of jurisprudence temperament, granted Trump’s request for a special master to review the “Top secret” documents and any personal items, such as magazines, seized from his home. If this was a favor, rather than meritorious judicial decree, Judge Cannon issued an unethical decision more salacious than a hooker flagging down an undercover detective.
Also, Judge Cannon’s decision is about as stupendous as her having honored a teenage mass murderer’s request to have a special master review the cache of weapons along with his bookbag, report card, and comic books seized during a search of his home. Her willingness to show her allegiance to Trump didn’t stop with the special master. No! She gave up more than what Trump asked for without him groping her. Remember, Trump has consistently demonstrated a lack of respect towards women. This instance was no difference!
Forget about Judge’s Cannon lack of respect for the Department of Justice, the rule of law, the safety of our democracy, as well as those who risk their lives to protect us. She has demonstrated, as a judge, she is incapable of being beholding to the rule of law rather than to the president who nominated her.
Americans must remember that democracies begin to ever so slightly crumble before they fail. Once society loses faith in their democratic institutions and the ineptitude of its leader[s] go unchecked, there won’t be any souls for Biden to save!
The misdeeds of our people threaten our beloved planet. Likewise, failure to apply the rule of law to address the misdeeds of the following will seal the fate of our “republic:”
- The former president is to be accountable for his penchant for criminality.
- The Supreme Court’s conservative right-winged structure must be addressed by Congress.
- The Legislative Branch of government must hold an unfit president accountable.
- The Republican Party must cease seeking to strengthen their own powers for the purpose of suppressing the rights of the people.
Judge Cannon as well as all judges must realize that existence of our “republic” is dependent on their oaths to the U.S. Constitution, rather than to the president who nominated them. Judges should never allow themselves to be procured as though they’re call girls and venal.
