The Jamaica United Relief Association (JURA), in collaboration with Commissioner Maxwell B. Chambers of the City of Miramar, is set to host a Day of Caring—a community initiative aimed at collecting, sorting, and organizing donations to aid local and international organizations that support those in need. This event reflects JURA’s nearly four decades of dedication to providing hope and assistance and now calls on community members to contribute to sustaining this mission.

Details of JURA’s Day of Caring:

Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Vizcaya Park, 14200 SW 55th St, Miramar, FL 33027

The event welcomes a wide range of donations, including new and gently used clothing, toys, books, office equipment, professional attire, backpacks, and new medical supplies. Volunteers are encouraged to assist with sorting and packing these items. This collaborative effort will directly benefit various organizations, such as Aiding-Aids, Inc., Women in Distress, Miami Job Corps, Victoria Jubilee Hospital, and the Annie Dawson Children’s Home.

Community members interested in volunteering or making donations are encouraged to get involved by contacting (754) 900-5269 for further details. This day of service is an opportunity for residents to come together and support JURA’s mission to uplift communities locally and abroad.

“Your support can make a tangible difference,” says JURA. “We look forward to working together to build a stronger, caring community.”
