Kentanji Brown-Jackson: not rising tide

By Kevin Palmer

Congratulations to Kentanji Brown-Jackson who will be the first Black female judge appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Hopeful Black folk must realize Judge Brown-Jackson’s rise to the nation’s highest court is not the rising tide that will lift all Black boats. She is just the newest member of the exclusive ‘first Black’ fraternity which exists to promote the illusion of Black progress, power, and racial equality.
