    Submitted By Rachel Shapiro

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Kick off the New Year by enjoying smooth jazz with family and friends at the SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch. The free monthly event will bring music, the Florida sunshine and people together on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. along the New River in Fort Lauderdale’s scenic Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment District.

The SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch welcomes music fans, picnic partiers and well behaved, leashed pets to the Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment District. Appearing at this month’s event is Mike Levine Quintet on the Peck Courtyard stage at the Broward Center, the Ray Stephens Orchestra on the Esplanade Stage and Blues Therapy & Jazz at the Connie Hoffmann Gazebo.

The Broward Center will be open for free tours conducted by friendly and knowledgeable Broward Center volunteer tour guides. Tours are held at noon, 12:30 and 1 p.m. Tours also are offered on Mondays at 1 p.m.  In addition to guiding tours, volunteers last season donated more than 100,000 hours greeting school groups, seating patrons at performances and performing administrative duties. For more information on volunteer opportunities, e-mail volunteer@browardcenter.org. The Broward Center Auto-Nation box office will be open during the Jazz Brunch. For complete ticket information, please call (954) 462-0222.
