    Lee Daniels’ The Butler receives three nominations for the SAG Awards 

    Resulting in the cancellation of this weekend’s gala

    The City of Lauderhill and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Task Force have been informed that Lee Daniels’ movie The Butler has been nominated for three Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

    Unfortunately, the SAG Awards will be given out in Hollywood, CA. the same date and time of the City’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Gala that was scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 8, 2014, at 7 pm, at Screen Post Production in Lauderhill.

    The City and Task Force are working on rescheduling the Annual MLK Gala. In the meantime, if you desire a re-fund, contact 954-730-3000.

    The City and the MLK Task Force apologize for any inconvenience this change may have caused and wish Mr. Daniels much success at the upcoming SAG Awards.
