Lena Bell Owens Cone passed

Mrs. Lena Bell Owens Cone worked 40 years for Broward County Schools as a Cafeteria Manager. Through the years she has worked at Dillard High School, Dillard Elementary, Sunland Park Elementary, Wingate Oaks, Morrow Elementary and Blanche Ely High School.
Owens devoted herself to all occasions. She was a prominent fixture in the neighborhood and a long time member of New Mount Olive Baptist Church. She also sang in the #2 choir. Owens was one of the pioneers for the free lunch system; no child ever went without eating when she was a-round. Lunch ticket or not, you ate!
Owens will be missed by many including her family, children, neighbors and friends. It’s fitting she left us on Thanksgiving Day because she was always “Giving” her whole life.
