Lena Bell Owens Cone passed

Ā Ā Ā Ā Mrs. Lena Bell Owens Cone worked 40 years for Broward County Schools as a Cafeteria Manager. Through the years she has worked at Dillard High School, Dillard Elementary, Sunland Park Elementary, Wingate Oaks, Morrow Elementary and Blanche Ely High School.
Ā Ā Ā Owens devoted herself to all occasions. She was a prominent fixture in the neighborhood and a long time member of New Mount Olive Baptist Church. She also sang in the #2 choir. Owens was one of the pioneers for the free lunch system; no child ever went without eating when she was a-round. Lunch ticket or not, you ate!
Ā Ā Ā Owens will be missed by many including her family, children, neighbors and friends. Itās fitting she left us on Thanksgiving Day because she was always āGivingā her whole life.
