Love the Rainbow

We are in the year 2018 I don’t understand why STILL our Black and Latino communities relent lessly stigmatize the L.G.B.T.Q (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender…?). For those that are not sure what the Q is well, according to Fred Sainz, a spokesman for the Human Rights Campaign, Q can mean either ‘questioning’ or ‘queer’ and either interpretation is accepted is what he told USA TODAY Network. “People use the term queer because it’s not specific to sexual orientation or to gender identity,” said Saiz.
I’d like to discuss the “W” …What will it take, Why can’t we all just get along?, When will it end?! Is it too much of a high expectation to say that one day WE will all be treated as human beings? To be fair, the gay community has come a long way in respect to gay marriage. According to Reuters Court Orders, in 2003 Massachusetts became the first state to allow gay marriage after its highest court ruled the state’s ban violated the constitutional rights of same-sex couples. Hoorah!
Truth be told, everyone should able to love and be with whomever they wish. Let me throw out the “J” word for a second here. The Bible says, John book 13 verse 34. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another,” It is straightforward people! Whether you believe in Jesus, God, Allah, it is not fair to judge someone for whom they choose to love and make them feel less of a person. God gave every human free will. Jesus preached as documented in Matthew book 22 verse 39 “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
I can’t speak for your opinion, but to me Jesus is a good mentor to follow. Maybe we should read our scripture and follow his teachings. Love is the footpath to the Pearly Gates!
