Lucille Scruggs, Retired educator and Church Mother at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Pompano Beach was recently honored over 50 years of service to the church and the community. Scruggs taught Elementary education for the majority of her career at Sanders  Park Elementary School in Pompano Beach. She was active as a Sunday school teacher and worked on several committees in the church before recently moving to Tampa to spend more time with her daughter and her family. The idea to honor Scruggs was presented by Perry Thurston, Sr. and the event with many willing participants and committee members was chaired by Zadia Tyson. Pictured here; Rev.
