MIAMI, FL – The Miami Dolphins all-time winningest coach Don Shula was honored for his success in business by the Dolphins Business Alliance (DBA) at Sun Life Stadium.
“This is an award that I certainly didn’t expect but I’m very thankful that they did honor me,” said Shula. “I’m proud of the fact that we’ve done well in business and I had a good background in sports and the two of them tie in together.”
Shula’s record as head coach of the Dolphins (1970-95) and before that as head coach of the Baltimore Colts (1963-69) is unmatched in National Football League history. In 1995, he concluded his 33rd season as an NFL head coach and his 26th season as head coach of the Dolphins as the winningest coach in NFL history with 347 career wins. In addition, Shula won Super Bowl titles in 1972 and 1973, and is one of only five coaches in NFL history to win consecutive Super Bowls. He has appeared in more Super Bowls (six) than any other coach, and is one of only two coaches to reach the Super Bowl three straight seasons (1971-73).

Additionally, the DBA hosted a lively and unique panel discussion on how athletes prepare for life after football. The panel discussion was moderated by Billy Corben and Alfred Spellman of Rakontur, a production company that has created a host of critically-acclaimed documentaries including “Broke”, the highest rated film in ESPN’s 30 for 30 series. Panelists include Director of Player Engagement Kaleb Thornhill, Brian Hartline,Richie Incognito, Matt Moore and R.J. Stanford.
Dolphins PRIME was activated for the event with a complimentary food and cash bar with cheerleaders and T.D. available for pictures and autographs. Additionally, Miami’s Super Bowl trophies were on display for photo opportunities and ‘The Finsiders’ radio show conducted a live broadcast. Furthermore, 30 trade show booths took part in the event.
The DBA has hosted a series of trade shows, presented by MBAF (Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC) bringing together business leaders, corporate partners, vendors/suppliers, suite holders, club seat and season ticket holders to create meaningful introductions and connections to positively impact their respective businesses. In the past, over 70 partner booths have been taken part in past trade shows that have featured guest speakers on Social Media, Networking, and Building Your Business with the Miami Dolphins / Sun Life Stadium, as well as, special presentations from Miami Dolphins Head Coach Joe Philbin, General Manager Jeff Ireland and CEO Mike Dee.
