County Public Schools has appointed Michael Scott as Director and Compliance Officer of the Economic Development & Diversity Compliance (EDDC) Department.
Scott, an attorney and certified compliance professional, brings years of experience in promoting small business inclusion and equitable contracting practices. In his new role, he will lead district-wide efforts to ensure fair access to procurement opportunities for minority-, women- and small business enterprises.
His responsibilities will include strengthening supplier diversity, monitoring vendor compliance, conducting community outreach, and advising on inclusive policy development. Scott will also collaborate with internal departments to align economic development with construction and capital improvement goals.
BCPS leaders see Scott’s appointment as a key step toward building a more inclusive, transparent, and economically vibrant school system.
