My first year at The Illustrious Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University(FAMU) was everything I could’ve ever imagined and more! I met so many wonderful people and built so many important relationships that I’m so very grateful for.

Going in to college I was somewhat nervous but very excited to embark on my new journey. Being almost 7 hours away from home for the first time ever was a huge eye opener. I really learned that growing up and becoming an adult is not easy and that you gain lots of responsibilities.

Being away from home and away from my family really made me appreciate my parents and how amazing of a job they did of raising me and making sure I was well prepared to succeed on my own.

I also became so thankful for my support system and how friends and family always made sure I had everything I needed and more.

As a pharmacy major, I started my first semester at Florida A&M University taking seven classes. I turned around the following semester and took seven classes again, and I really applied myself well throughout the whole year.

I finished my first year as a member of two honor society organizations and on the Dean’s List. I couldn’t be more happy and more proud of myself with how well I started my collegiate journey.
