    Miramar native serves aboard a Navy warship in Mayport, Florida

          MAYPORT, FL – A Miramar, Florida, native serves in the U.S. Navy aboard guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook.

    Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathan Mariner joined the Navy two years ago. Today, Mariner serves as a logistics specialist.

    “What inspired me to join the Navy was finding a sense of purpose, learning new skill sets to do after the Navy, and travel,” said Mariner.

    Growing up in Miramar, Mariner attended Everglades High School and graduated in 2015. Today, Mariner finds the values in Miramar like those needed to succeed in the military.

    Petty Officer 2nd Class Christoria Riley joined the Navy four years ago. Today, Riley serves as a personnel specialist.

    “I wanted more for myself,” said Riley. “I didn’t grow up wealthy and knew there was something more for me. I attended college and earned my Associates Degree in Accounting from National University.”

    Fort Lauderdale native serves aboard USS Carter Hall

          MILLINGTON, TENN. – A Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native serves aboard USS Carter Hall, a Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship.

    Seaman Apprentice Reginald Augustin joined the Navy one years ago for the opportunities serving provides.

    “I’ve always been a great fan of the military,” said Augustin. “Aside from disciplines it teaches and the pipeline process, I love to travel. I knew the Navy would take me to places that I would never have the opportunity to visit on my own.”
