Nunnie on the Sideline

I don’t believe anyone was surprised when the Miami Dolphins announced that Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa would be returning to the field of play once his mandatory four game IR hiatus ended in two weeks. The Dolphins who  had a bye in week six,  now must travel to Indianapolis to play the Colts. It is assumed that Tua will return the following Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals at the HardRock.

Apparently, consultation with medical experts, the NFL, the Dolphins hierarchy and his family have assisted in shaping his decision. As outsiders we can only  conclude that he has made the right decision for himself, his family and the team, and that he will use every precaution to avoid or prevent another concussion while playing at a high level. That indeed is a tall order.

The WNBA and MLB playoffs are reaching their apex. The New York Liberty blew an 18 point lead in route to losing the opening game at home against the Minnesota Lynx; however, they bounced back to win the second game, evening the series at 1-1. The next 2 games will be played in Minneapolis. Led by Nepheesa Collier, the Lynx have proven to be an equal and formidable opponent for the favorite Liberty.

The American and National League Championship Series are being contested by the Cleveland Guardians and the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets respectively. The Yankees have taken a one game lead over Cleveland while the Dodgers and Mets have split the first two games in LA. I’m certain that the  New York citizenry would love to see a Mets/Yankees series, but knowing the historical significance of the former Brooklyn Dodgers and Jackie Robinson, coupled with the fact that LA manager Dave Roberts is Black, places me all in with a Dodger/Yankee series and ultimate World Series victory by the Los Dodgers! What say you….
