He said:  This week we experienced a “Cold Day in Hell”!  California Governor Gavin Newsom signed in-to law the landmark bill for college athletes. The law mandates athletes get compensated for any pro-fits generated from their likeness or jersey sales. The N.C.A.A. considers Newsom to be a reprobate, because he has now opened Pandora’s Box.

Ed O’Bannon, the star U.C.L.A. basketball player, opened this box.  He was the lead plaintiff in O’Bannon v. N.C.A.A. It was an antitrust class action lawsuit filed on behalf of football and men’s basket-ball.   In January 2011 Oscar Robertson, considered one of the greatest basketball players of all-time, joined O’Bannon in the class action suit. On August 8, 2014, the court ruled that the NCAA’s long-held practice of barring payments to athletes violated anti-trust laws

She said:  I am so proud of my state finally putting it to those N.C.A.A. hypocrite gas bags.  Don, the N.C.A.A. has been making billions of dollars on players and most of them are Black. They give us this “B.S.” line about they get a free college education.  N.C.A.A., if it “walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it is a Darn Duck”.  They have been exploiting these athletes to make billions for years.

I hope to see that Title 9 is applied fairly to my sister. I want to see the Brandy Chastain’s of the world make some serious coin. Now, with Pandora’s Box being opened, my state has a leg up on every power house school in the nation [Alabama, University of Miami etc..]

He said:  The courts will make sure it is applied equitably. If one of your sisters winds up on a Wheaties box, she will get paid.  Nicole, you’re spot on that the other schools will quickly push for laws to “copy-cat” California. Enjoy your recruiting advantage while you can!
