Pine Hills Community Performing Arts Center celebrates first year anniversary

    By Roger Caldwell

On Thursday, Sept. 27 through Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, the Shine/Pine Hills Performing Arts Center will present three nights of “Artistic Expressions,” celebrating its first year anniversary.

On Thursday evening the festivities will begin at 7 p.m., and the other two nights will start at 8 p.m. All festivities will take place at 5600 W. Colonial Dr., Suite 302, Orlando, Fla.

Thursday evening will be the VIP Semi-Formal, Art, Dinner and Entertainment Gala, with the key note speaker, Angelia Rivers, Florida Dept. of Education Bureau Chief Family & Community Outreach.

A $50 donation is requested at this event, and there are six remaining tables for friends and corporations to sponsor. RSVP is required for the Gala table and seats are still available.

Friday evening, there will be an exciting and fun event entitled Magic and Music featuring the amazing Magician, David Mandola from Denmark, Sweden.

At this event there will be a magician, dancer, live band, sax player, and singer. On Saturday night, there will be a spoken word event entitled Spoken Word Artistic Expressions. The host of the evening is the entertaining and prolific spoken word artist Shawn Welcome. Welcome has confirmed his friends Devery Brooks, C. Hopewell, McKinnon, and many more surprise guests will perform and there will also be music. The suggested price of tickets for both events is $10, but this is a donation, so let your heart be your guide.

Michael Kimbrough is the CEO/founder of the center, and he is committed to expanding the artistic expression of the community and growing the vision of the Performing Center. The Shine/Pine Hills Performing Arts Center has provided quality art to our community through stage productions, performances, concerts, and Children’s Theater. The goal of the “Artistic Expressions Weekend” is to raise $10,000 to continue with the work of the performing arts center.

For more information and ticket sales, call Michael Kimbrough at (407) 234-9619, or email at michaelkimbrough312@hotmail.com.
